Hiplife veteran, Tic, has explained how he introduced his colleague artists into the international space after his successful collaboration with Nigerian star, Tony Tetuila.

According to Tic (previously known as Tic Tac), a contract he signed with his then-label, Goodies Music Production, in the early 2000s required him to take other artists under the label international.

He revealed this in an interview on Citi TV’s Upside Down show, adding that he was the first Ghanaian hiplife star to make inroads in Nigeria.

Tic had become a household name in the biggest African market following the release of his hugely successful collaboration with Tony Tetuila, titiled, Fe Fe Ne Fe.

Following his entry into Nigeria, VIP,  Mzbel and Sidney also had their breakthroughs, with Ahomka Wo Mu, 16 years and African Money respectively. The songs became mega hits in Nigeria.

Other Ghanaian rappers whose songs became successful in Nigeria during the period were Obour and Tinny and Dr. Poh.
