Ghanaian artiste Samini has won the election to become the new President of the Students Representative Council (SRC) at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
Prior to this, the Linda singer had outlined some policies he intended to role out if he won the election.
The dancehall artiste who is studying Project Management for his undergraduate degree at the school believes that student politics is a good preparatory ground for anyone who wants to get into mainstream politics.
As part of his policies, he intends to create a fund that will cushion needy students.
He has also promised to establish the ONUAPA SRC Emergency Trust Fund through crowdfunding and partnership with corporations. This trust fund will be channeled into supporting needy students with the payment of fees, supporting businesses, and other worthy emergency causes.
Samini says he will create a desk at the SRC to assist students with the registration of courses, NSS Registration, student loan registration, and internship support programmes.
Apart from these, he wants to revive the student shuttle service to lessen the transportation burdens on students by acquiring a bus and through a partnership with transportation companies.
Samini says he has plans to later study law and take up leadership roles in the country.
