Junka Town star, Too Much, ‘blasts’ Reggie Rockstone for selling waakye in glass jars

Junka Town movie star, Too Much Pampii, is not happy with the modern ways of packaging waakye, especially the innovative business model of selling the food in jars, introduced by Ghanaian music legend, Reggie Rockstone.

According to him, new branding of the popular rice and beans dish has rather diminished its quality and made it less attractive to consumers.

The comedian says he prefers waakye being served traditionally, in leaves or old dinner plates, than in glassware.

Hiplife originator, Reggie Rockstone, packages waakye and other products in glass jars for sale under the name Rockz Waakye. His business was ridiculed after photos of his waakye went viral on social media on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. However, lovers of local dishes have hailed Reggie Rockstone for promoting Ghanaian food.

Maybe it’s time to try Grandpapa’s waakye!
