KiDi believes his song Touch It is the single biggest revenue earner ever in the history of Ghanaian music.
The 2022 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), Artist of the Year made the statement on Okay FM’s drive time show with Abeiku Santana.
According to him, the song’s streaming numbers on online platforms is unprecedented in Ghana’s history and thus leaves no doubt that it is the highest revenue earner.
Released in March 2021, Touch It was named as Ghana’s Most Exported solo track by music streaming giant, Spotify in February 2022.
According to Spotify, users in India, the USA, Netherlands, the UK and Mexico streamed this song the most.
In June 2022, the song went Platinum in India.
Reacting to the news on Instagram, the Lynx Entertainment signee was full of gratitude for the support received.
“MY FIRST PLATINUM RECORD!!! One word: grateful. Cheers to many more to come”, he wrote.
KiDi is expected to release a new single after the success of ‘Touch It’ in the coming weeks.
