I won’t campaign for any party again; politicians are wicked – Kwabena Kwabena

George Kwabena Adu, known in the music industry as Kwabena Kwabena, has said that he will not throw his weight behind any political party again.

Kwabena who since 2008 has been an apologist of the New Patriotic Party and has done campaign songs for Nana Akufo-Addo, seems disappointed in the attitude of politicians.

In an interview on Adom FM’s Entertainment Hall with Mike 2, Kwabena said he has realised how wicked and heartless politicians are.

He noted that his research shows these politicians are benefitting at the expense of the people they are supposed to serve.

“Pick someone who claims is serving the country and look at their benefits. We [the country] even pay their DStv bills for them. Such a poor country!”

“Count the number of ministers we have; count the number of government officials we have. They don’t buy fuel. They are very insensitive. And go and check their salaries. They are paid even more than every civil servant. They are very wicked people. Per my research, they are heartless people,” he said.

The ‘Aso’ hitmaker said he has now understood why politicians engage in unnecessary fights and kill each other for power.

Asked if he would throw his weight behind any political party in the past if he knew this, and if he would still do campaign songs for any party, he said: “I’m tired.”

He, however, added that Ghana’s problems are not a result of incompetence on the part of the its current and successive Presidents.

Kwabena intimated that he campaigned for Nana Akufo-Addo to become President because he knew with all his achievements, he was qualified to do the job.

“No president in Ghana is responsible for our problems. It’s our constitution and the two parties that have led us in the past 30 years,” he told Mike 2.

He concluded by saying that come 2024, he will not cast his vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) or the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
