Highlife veteran, Ofori Amponsah, says he regrets investing in his fellow musicians because he was betrayed by the late Kofi B, who was the artist he helped the most.
Speaking in an interview on TV XYZ, Ofori Amponsah said that even though he wrote all of Kofi B’s major hit songs, Kofi B refused to acknowledge his contribution to his career while he was alive.
The former Ghana Music Awards Artist of the Year said he started seeking sponsorship for Kofi B to launch his career, while he himself hadn’t had his breakthrough in the Ghanaian music scene.
According to him, he housed Kofi B in a room Daddy Lumba gave him at Dome in Accra and helped him to produce his first album, which had the popular hit song ‘Mmobrowa’.
Ofori Amponsah added that he wrote songs for all the singers he worked with, including Kofi Nti and Daddy Lumba.
