Former President, John Dramani Mahama has described the late highlife singer, A.B. Crentsil, as an icon in Ghanaian music, one whose songs continue to impact generations.
Mr. Mahama made the statement when family elders of the popular musician, paid a visit to officially inform him about the news.
“A.B. Crentsil was like a big brother, because we grew up listening to his music,” he said.
The man, regarded as one of the most accomplished highlife musicians in Ghana, passed away on July 13, at the age of 79.
