Award-winning artist J.Derobie says that former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan deserves another chance to play for Ghana at the FIFA World Cup.

According to the ‘Poverty’ hitmaker, Asamoah Gyan’s desire to play for the nation should not be taken for granted, as he has proven on countless occasions to be an instrumental member of the team since Ghana first qualified to play in the mundial in 2006.

Speaking in an interview with Kastle FM, J. Derobie stated that Asamoah Gyan deserves another chance to showcase his exceptional talent and skills to the world.

“As for me I think that Asamoah Gyan has done a lot for this country so if he says he wants to go and play in the World Cup why not.”

“I’m just sharing my opinion on this issue and I think if he wants to be part of the team for the World Cup in Qatar at least let’s give him the chance,” he remarked.

According to him, Asamoah Gyan’s resolve to continue playing for Ghana is evident of his love for his country and thus should be honoured as a patriot with a call-up into the squad.

“Let’s give Asamoah Gyan another opportunity to redeem himself because he really loves this country so we ought to give him another chance,” he concluded.

Asamoah Gyan is the all-time leading goalscorer of the Ghana national team, with 51 goals.

World Cup 2022 takes place in Qatar from November 20 to December 18; 32 teams to compete in eight groups; England face Iran on the second day of the tournament while Wales face USA; Wales vs England on November 29.
