Video blogger Teacher Kwadwo has sent a welcome message to Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, the Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
Teacher Kwadwo (Michael Owusu Afriyie), had previously blamed the Prof Opoku-Amankwa’s leadership for victimizing him after he exposed inefficiencies within the public school system.
Teacher Kwadwo still maintains that he was unlawfully removed from his position as a teacher at the Akrofrom District Assembly Primary School because of his criticism of GES leadership.
Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante, in a statement announced Professor Opoku-Amankwa’s removal from his post effective Monday, October 17, 2022.
“The Ministry of Education has informed this office that the exigencies that required your skills and expertise as Director-General of the Ghana Education Service do not exist any longer.
“The President thanks you for your service to the nation and wishes you the very best in your future endeavours,” the letter said.
Teacher Kwadwo, responding to the shocking news, tweeted, “Welcome home Daddy. Awaawaawaaa…atubaaaaam.”
Barely a year after launching his ‘Fix GES Campaign’, in which he became vocal about the plight of teachers and pupils in public basic schools, Teacher Kwadwo, was issued with a letter of dismissal by the GES for unprofessional conduct and absenteeism.
