An interview that gospel musician Piesie Esther granted Kastle FM recently has re-ignited the debate of married female artistes being managed by men other than their husbands.
According to Piesie Esther, it is risky for a married female artiste to have a male manager.
She said she feels safe having her husband as her manager because she knows he is her husband and answers to him only.
“Getting someone who understands the nature of my work helps a lot because the schedule of my work demands that I go to the studio to record late at night,” she added.

The ‘W’aye Me Yie’ singer said she can be in the studio up to 2 am before going back home, an act that a lot of married men cannot tolerate from their wives.
“It is risky sometimes going up and down with another man in the night who is not your husband, but having your husband as your manager can help to calm such situations. Sometimes I need to change over and wear another dress after a show and I do that in the vehicle in the presence of my husband because I know he’s the one I’m married to,” Piesie Esther told Amansan Krakye in the interview.
Piesie Esther is celebrating her 20th anniversary as a gospel musician on November 6, 2022, in Accra.
