The Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta says he is working hard to get Ghana’s economy back on track.
The minister, who appeared before the ongoing censure motion hearing committee for the first time on Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Parliament House in Accra, admitted that the majority of Ghanaians are going through a difficult period of high inflation and a rapidly depreciating cedi.
According to him, he has, over the past 5 years, worked diligently through various interventions to make Ghana’s economy robust despite global shocks such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
He added that contrary to allegations of corruption levelled against him by proponents of the censure, who are calling for his dismissal, he has performed creditably.
Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta also added that he is working closely with major stakeholders to bring stability in the country’s financial sector, adding that he feels the pain of Ghanaians.
