Samini is not enthused about the official World Cup song composed by Kentos Band for Black Stars.
Commenting on the quality of the song, the dancehall artiste said he and a few other artistes could have done a better song.
“The new black starts song tho, do we have to learn it before the world cup ?🤷🏾♂️😂 whoever chose it probably wrote it too. Eiiiii track na 3y3 ya saaa no! Hmmm 😂😂😂 a few of us could have done a better job at that Chale anaa meeb)dam lol. but vim still for the boys. Go Ghana,” he wrote.
Reacting to comments that he may have made the post out of jealousy, Samini noted he has done songs for the Black Stars in the past.
“I did Germany 2006, performed the official song at the closing ceremony at SA 2010.2014 was yawa and 2018 we no fit go. Been there done that, 4get hype. The moral of my statement beyond politics, typos, and grammatical errors remains the fact that the track is wack in my Opinions,” he added.
He said he did a song for Germany 2006, and also in 2010 when he performed the official song at the closing ceremony in South Africa.
For those who roped in political sentiments, he said the crux of his statement goes beyond politics.
He further stated that Kweku Flick’s World Cup song should have been selected by the GFA as the official song for the Black Stars.
In the meantime, artistes like Akwaboah and King Promise have also composed songs for the National football team.
