Legendary Ghanaian Sound engineer, Zapp Mallet has stated that no Ghanaian artiste can fill up the Accra Sports Stadium.

Ghanaian artistes have been slammed for not being able to organize sold-out international concerts at some much-rated venues such as the 02 Arena and the Madison Square.

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Wizkid, has conquered all these venues, particularly the 02 Arena which has a 20,000 sitting capacity.

But Wizkid, astonishingly, couldn’t pull the crowd needed to fill the 40,000 Accra Sports Stadium during his live concert dubbed ‘WizkidLiveAccra’ concert on December 10,2022.

The ‘Essence’ crooner put patrons who had come to catch a glimpse of his performance after paying a huge sum of money into a state of shock when he refused to show up on stage.

His refusal to perform, and his inability to fill the stadium have created elephantine controversy within the showbiz fraternity and on Social media.

Answering a question in line with whether a Ghanaian artiste could’ve filled the stadium during an interview with Reagan Mends of GhanaWeekend.com, legendary Zapp Mallet without mincing words stated emphatically that:

“No! let me be very candid with you… for now, no Ghanaian artiste can fill the stadium”.

The legendary sound engineer who has produced many monster hit songs like late Highlife Musician Daasebre Dwamena’s ‘Kokooko’ and multiple award-winning defunct group Wutah’s ‘Big Dreams’ ,added that:

“Collectively they can but individually never!”.
