Former Light Heavyweight champion Braimah Kamoko aka Bukom Banku has been remanded by an Accra Circuit court for allegedly stabbing a man.
A report from the prosecutor says the boxer and some friends attacked some individuals in Bukom on Friday, November 25th, 2022 at 5:30 pm.
The complainant, Ishmael Neequaye who is also a neighbor disclosed that the noise in the area woke him up from his sleep. He disclosed that he tried to restore calm.
However, the prosecutor stated that Bukom Banku upon seeing the complainant Ishamel Neequaye broke a bottle and gave it to his son identified as Mustapha to stab Ishmael. The son of Bukom thrust the broken bottle into the abdomen of the complainant, who was later rushed to the Korle Bu teaching hospital.
The police on several occasions was reportedly making efforts to arrest Bukom Banku and his son, but all efforts were futile. However, the two were nabbed after they were served with a criminal summons.
The two pleaded not guilty but were denied bail by the presiding judge Justice Adelaide Abui Keddey.
The boxer and his son have been remanded to reappear on Monday, 19th December. However, the third accused Prosper Quaye, 32 is on the run.
