After missing two major shows in the space of 48 hours, Wizkid has disappointed his fans who bought expensive tickets just to see him in action in Accra and Abidjan.

According to the Premium Times of Nigeria, fans of Wizkid, are at daggers drawn as the singer failed to show up for his performance at a concert in Ghana.

The Premium Times of Nigeria published a report about the event on December 11, 2022, barely 24 hours after the show.

Read the report below:

Fans of the ‘Ojuelegba’ singer have been calling him out on Twitter for not honouring his deal with the organizers.

The phrase ‘Arrest’ has also made it to the Twitter trend list in Nigeria.

According to @DessyFayden, an OAP with Metro TV, Ghana, the botched show will go down as the worst-ever music concert in the country.

“Big Wiz no show up, the whole thing scatter. Mic, sound, light. Instead of Wizkid, we had DJ Tunez and Pocolee,” he wrote.

A Nigerian music lover, @nnekachile, posted a clip of disappointed fans leaving the concert venue at 4:03 a.m. after 12 hours of waiting for Wizkid.

“I feel so bad. I feel sad it’s happening in another country and happening in Ghana. A country you reside in. This is the peak of one’s Hubris.

“About 5000 people stood waiting for an artist, and he decided not to show up. The authorities should intervene. He should be banned, and the organizers should be sanctioned. It’s rather distasteful,” she wrote.

Another fan of the platinum-selling artiste, @Donwyite1, however, opined that the concert was detrimental to Wizkid’s career.

According to him, Wizkid Live in Accra was a big disaster for technical and logistic reasons.

He wrote: “The show organisers wanted to kill Wizkid’s Career and brand. ‘Wizkid Live in Accra’ was a big disaster. The mic was bad, the system was so bad, and the Stadium was Empty because people couldn’t get their tickets verified, and you expect Wizkid to show up? Naaa.”

Below is how the press house reported Wizkid’s no show in Abidjan:

Hours after disappointing his fans in Ghana by failing to perform at a concert he was billed for, Nigerian superstar Ayo Balogun has repeated the same in another West African country.

The Nigerian star was to perform at a concert in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, on Sunday but did not honour his appointment and had his fans waiting for long hours.

Even though his fans paid 100,000 CFA francs, approximately N71,000, to obtain a ticket, and waited endlessly, Wizkid failed to show up.

According to reports, Wizkid had a show in Abidjan, after which he was billed to perform in Cotonou, Benin Republic.

Despite reports that he was in a jet on his way to Abidjan, the singer didn’t show up.

Instead, he went to perform in Cotonou. He was also recorded in Cotonou, saying he would see his fans in Abidjan soon.

According to the information, Wizkid didn’t show up even though he and his team were reportedly fully paid. The venue was fully paid for as well.

His team members were said to have been held and not allowed to leave Abidjan if he didn’t show up for his performance.
