John Dumelo, has received a certificate of appreciation from the University of Ghana, Legon for his exceptional contribution to the development of the institution and students’ welfare.

In 2020 Mr. Dumelo contested for the parliamentary seat of the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, where the university is located.

He launched a student support programme for brilliant-but-needy students, which he continued to fund even after losing the seat.

Due to this, Mr. Dumelo has received a certificate of appreciation for his generous support of the school’s financial aid program.

The certificate, signed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo reads:

In recognition of your generous support to Students Financial Aid at the University of Ghana, in its pursuit to develop world-class human resources with capabilities to meet national demands.

Following his failed bid to become the member of parliament, John Dumelo, has been promoting his agribusiness, Melo Farms.

In July 2021, he shared pictures from his farms on social media, showing several bags of ginger harvested for the season.

Apart from ginger, Dumelo is into animal husbandry. He also deals in other farm produce such as cabbage mushroom and most recently, yam.

His company, manufactures locally-made ginger paste under the brand name, Melo Foods.
