Ghanaian blogger, Ameyaw Kissi Debrah, has explained the rationale behind his decision to stop writing stories about Shatta Wale.
According to him, he decided to stay away from producing content related to Shatta Wale after receiving threats from the singer.
Ameyaw said Shatta told him to stop posting content about him if he values his life.
Speaking on Accra-based Hitz FM, Mr Debrah noted that he heeded Shatta Wale’s warning and never went contrary for seven years.
Even at that, Ameyaw Debrah said he was still successful in his work, regardless of the fact that he didn’t have the singer’s fingerprints on his blog.
“Shatta Wale once told me, “If you value your life, do not write about me. I then blacklisted him for 7 years or so. I mean, if you don’t write about a particular artist and you still thrive in your business, then it means I don’t really care about you,” the blogger revealed.
He, however, noted that Shatta Wale’s threat didn’t move him, but he just wanted to abide by it
“because you can’t force yourself to promote someone’s work without being appreciated.”
“I didn’t feel threatened when Shatta Wale told me that if I valued my life, I shouldn’t write about him,” he said.
According to him, Shatta Wale’s content may now be found on his page because he has workers who like creating content about dancehall.
