Filmmakers and Musicians must collaborate — Juliet Asante [Video]

On Monday ,February 13, Citi FM and Citi TV officially launched this year’s edition of  Heritage Month at the forecourt of Citi TV at Tesano in Accra.

The Heritage Month showcase Ghana’s rich culture is in partnership with Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), the National Film Authority, and Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC)

Speaking at the launch, the Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA) of Ghana,Juliet Asante called for collaboration between FilmMakers and musicians.

 According to the Board Chair of the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) ,“One of the things about such a launch is networking.. As I was standing there , I was discussing with Okyeame Kwame about collaborations between musicians and filmmakers; how can we get more Ghanaian music into our movies; how do we capture our images on films”. Juliet Asante said

The Veteran actress explained that the National Film Authority is now at the table looking for opportunities to showcase Ghana – not just to the world but in Ghana because ,”I have realized Ghanaians probably don’t know too well about the beautiful assets that we have.”

She thanked management of Citi FM and Citi TV for initiating the Heritage Month.

This year’s Heritage Month which is on the theme: “Make it Ghana”, begins on February 27, 2023, and will last through the end of March

Throughout the month, there will be a circuit of historical and culturally significant activities to highlight the month through food, traditions, music, and fashion, among other things.

Part of the events is the trip of a lifetime – ‘Heritage Caravan’ which helps patrons to discover Ghana in seven fantastic days from March 4 – 11, 2023.

Between March 25-26, 2023, there will be the “Back to your Village” Food Bazaar’ – a two-day fair displaying indigenous food and beverages.
