Popular Ghanaian rapper, Kofi Mole has stated that hiplife music genre no longer makes strides in the Ghanaian music industry.
Hiplife, a genre of music derived from American hip hop, which fuses Ghanaian culture and the hip-hop genre.
It is known to be originated by Ghana’s hiplife ‘Grand Papa’, Reggie Rockstone and has been the claim to fame of many Ghanaian artists in the music industry.
Speaking on YFM, Kofi Mole stated categorically that Hiplife in Ghana is no longer proactive like it used to be due to the inactiveness of hiplife artistes in the music industry.
He backed his claims by stressing that rap in Ghana has evolved over time and has changed from hip-life to more of American hip hop
Known in real life as Edward Kofi Agyemang Amoah, Kofi Mole, who is known for hit songs such as Die Rich, Don’t Be Late and ‘Makoma’ was awarded the ‘Next Rated Act’ at the 2019 3Music Awards held in Accra.
