American singer Ron Kenoly hints of becoming a Ghanaian citizen

Legendary American Gospel singer, Ron Kenoly has revealed his intention to become a Ghanaian citizen.

On Good Friday, April 7,2023, the University of Professional Studies,Accra[UPSA] became the centre of attraction as it held the biggest gospel musical concert in Ghana, dubbed the Harvest Praise.

Harvest Praise is an annual gospel music outreach program, initiated by Harvest International Ministries (HIM) in 1998 and held on every Good Friday.

Dubbed the ’Silver Jubilee Edition’ to celebrate the 25 years of the festival’s formation, this year’s concert saw American legendary singer, Don Moen ,Moses Bliss , The Harvest Praise Choir and others delight the audience with their powerful and alluring voices.

Ron Kenoly who was one of the special guests on the night, while addressing patrons hinted of acquiring a residence permit in order to become a Ghanaian Citizen.

The ‘Anointing Fall On Me ‘ crooner’s first visit to Ghana was in 1997. During his first visit to Ghana in 1997, he learnt about Ghana and his ancestry.

According to him, the research indicated that his ancestors were part of some Ghanaians who were taken abroad from the central region, Specifically Elmina as part of slave Trade in 1836 so he assumes to be a Fante.

His second visit to Ghana was in 2011 where he shared the Adom Praiz stage with a selected group of local artistes including Cecilia Marfo, Stella Aba Seal, Mary Ghansah, Nii Okai, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Soul Winners, Cindy Thompson and Philipa Baafi.

In 2013, he shared the same stage with Qweci OpenGL, Ohemaa Mercy, Joe Mettle , Eugene Zutah and Ella Duncan Williams Dubbed African worship with Sonnie Badu

On the road to a blistering career, the legendary Gospel singer began working in full time ministry in 1985 when he started out as a worship leader at Jubilee Christian Center in San Jose, California.

Not long after that, in 1987, he was ordained and installed as Music Pastor. As worship leader, his sole focus was leading worship service. His musical style is one of jubilant praise and individual excellence on musical instruments.

He is known for hit songs such as ‘Be Glorified’, “Ancient of Days’,’ For The Lord Is Good” Anointing Fall on Me” among others
