Seasoned Gospel musician Ceccy Twum will headline this year’s Aboakyer Choral and Gospel Night alongside the Winneba Youth Choir and Akoo Show.
Ceccy Twum who is the main act on the contemporary gospel side is expected to bring her A-game and an impressive stage presence, while the award-winning Choral group, Winneba Youth Choir and Akoo Show will add some choral panache to the event.
Other choral groups and gospel acts billed to perform include the Grace Presbyterian Church Choir, J C. Price A.M.E Zion Choir, Ebenezer Methodist Cathedral Choir, Akoo Show, Windy Voices, Royalty, Rev. Dr. Zormeto Memorial Society Choir, Sandy Bee, Maame Efua and Ben Adjei.
The event put together by the Effutu Traditional Council is scheduled for Sunday, April 30 at the Liberation Square in Winneba at 6 pm and will see Gospel acts and Choral groups thrilling contemporary gospel and choral music lovers.
The Aboakyer Gospel and Choral Night is part of activities mapped out to celebrate this year’s Aboakyer festival of the people of Winneba in the Central Region.
This year’s Aboakyer Festival will begin on Saturday, April 29 with a tree-planting exercise at the Aboakyer hunting grounds to restore its wildlife nature.
Other activities mapped out for the celebrations include general clean-up and consecration of the shrine, football tournament, Aboakyer food bazaar, and parade of deities by Tuafo Number 1 and Dentsefo Number 2 Asafo companies through the streets of Winneba.
There will be a grand durbar on Sunday, May 7 to climax the festival after deer hunting in the morning by the two Asafo companies.
