Ghanaian gospel musician, Piesie Esther has picked up her first award of the seven nominations she had in the 24th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
Piesie Esther’s Waye me yie won the Best Gospel Song category among seven other nominees, all of whom are considered heavyweights in the Ghanaian gospel sphere.
She fought off stern competition from Joe Mettle and Diana Hamilton, both of who had won Artiste of the Year in 2017 and 2021 respectively.
Other musicians in the Best Gospel Song category included Celestine Donkor, Perez Muzik, MOG Music, and Bethel Revival Choir Ft Edwin Dagbon.
