Guinness World Records has announced that its tweet about Hilda Baci, the 26-year-old Nigerian chef’s breaking world record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual has set the record as best-performing tweet of all time.
According to Guinness, the record-breaking tweet was its best-performing tweet of all time, with nearly 25 million news feeds reached.
Baci cooked for 93 hours and 11 minutes, beating the previous record of 87 hours and 50 minutes set by Indian chef Lata Tondon in 2019.
Baci’s record-breaking attempt took place in Lagos, Nigeria, from May 11 to 15, 2023. During her time in the kitchen, she cooked over 100 pots of food, including Nigerian staples such as jollof rice, egusi soup, and fufu. She also cooked international dishes such as pasta, pizza, and sushi.
Baci said she was inspired to attempt the record after watching a documentary about Tondon. “I was amazed by her determination and I knew I had to try to break her record,” Baci said.
