GhanaWeekend’s checks indicate that the O2 Arena is now the ninth-largest building globally by volume, with an impressive capacity of 20,000 as of 2022.

This article highlights the remarkable achievements of Nigerian musicians who have performed at the renowned London venue.

  1. Asake

Leading the list is Asake, a singer from the YBNL record label, who sold out the prestigious stadium with a concert on August 20, 2023. He arrived in a helicopter and topped the chart.

2. Burna Boy

Known in real life as Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu MFR, sold out the O2 Arena on August 27, 2021, after the release of his hit single “Question” featuring producer Don Jazzy, which received massive airplay.

3. Davido

David Adeleke OON, popularly known as Davido, has shut down the O2 Arena twice, first in 2019 and recently on March 5, 2022, with the venue confirmed as sold out on the official Twitter page of the O2 Arena hours before the show.

4. Wizkid

Wizkid, aka Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, is the first Nigerian artist to sell out the London O2 arena in May 2018 during his Afrorepublik concert. He replicated the achievement in 2021 during his “Made In Lagos Tour,” which sold out in less than 10 minutes of public sale.

5. Tiwa Savage

Tiwa Savage, a Nigerian singer, and songwriter, also joins the list, achieving the milestone during her London O2 Arena concert in 2018. She emerged as the first Nigerian female artist to headline her first major UK concert at the 3,000-capacity Indigo at the O2 Arena, named “The Savage Tour.”

It is noteworthy that a Ghanaian artist has not yet sold out the iconic UK-based venue.
