Ampaw, affectionately known as ‘Che Che’ since his university days at the University of Ghana, breathed his last at the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC) on October 20, 2023.
It is reported that he has been in declining health since the beginning of the year 2023.
Ampaw’s legal expertise was well-recognized, and he played a crucial role as a member of the New Patriotic Party’s legal team during the Electoral Petition of 2013.
He had been considered a likely candidate for the position of Special Prosecutor following the president’s approval of the Office of Special Prosecutor Bill. He was also a partner at Akufo-Addo, Prempeh & Co.
