Popular Nollywood actor Amaechi Muonagor is currently battling kidney disease, diabetes, and stroke during his three-week hospitalisation, as revealed by his cousin Tony Muonagor in a recent Facebook post.

Tony emphasised that Amaechi, despite managing diabetes for years, recently suffered a stroke, intensifying the seriousness of his health condition.

Amaechi is presently undergoing weekly dialysis and other treatments at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi.

The family has been covering the costs for years, but the recent stroke has significantly increased the expenses, prompting the need for public awareness.

Tony, expressing his pride in Amaechi as a “brother,” clarified their close relationship as first cousins.

Contrary to some online reports, Tony set the record straight regarding their familial connection and thanked Amaechi’s fans, friends, and well-wishers for their support.

He provided an update on Amaechi’s condition, noting some improvement in blood sugar control, but stressed the ongoing requirement for sustained funding or donations to support the actor’s complete recovery.
