The Deeper Life Music Ministry-Ghana hosted a thrilling and energizing musical concert at the National Theatre in Accra on February 4.

The program, themed ‘Echoes from Heaven’, drew thousands of Ghanaians and Christian leaders across denominations, featuring a guest appearance from Uncle Ato.

Attendees enjoyed performances from various sections of the Deeper Life Music Ministry: children, youth, adults, and orchestra, alongside a spirit-filled worship session led by Ghanaian veteran musician, Uncle Ato.

Edward K. Duodo, the National Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry – Ghana, commended Pastor Fred Tamakloe and the team for their achievement and urged the government to prioritize music development as part of efforts to boost Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

In a speech delivered on his behalf by the church’s administrator, Pastor Edward Kofi Tumsiah, he emphasized the three values of music: social, economic, and spiritual, highlighting how “music as a social value sets us apart” and fosters connections among people.

“When the music ministry was planning to bring a gospel artist, we went to the National Overseer and mentioned Uncle Ato. The first thing he said was, Oh, he is correct. So music has a way of setting people apart in the community,” he complimented.

Speaking on the economic value of music, Mr. Tumsiah stated, “Look at all these instruments that these people are playing. The government is talking about TVET; vocational and technical training is what we are seeing here [orchestra and choir]. We have people in our society who do nothing but just sing, and so the training you are seeing here—our children, youth, campus, and adults—is not a waste of time at all. Sometimes people think it is a waste of time. For some of them, this is what is going to win them their daily bread when they grow up”.

He further added that “Christian music also brings some kind of sacredness to society, so when you go to places where real gospel music is sung, it is difficult to do bad things there.”

Music Director for Deeper Life Music Ministry-Ghana, Pastor Fred Tamakloe, applauded the audience and reiterated that “considering the feedback we are receiving, it was a grand success; attendance, musically, almost all the choir groups did very well, technically, sound, and video.”

Mr. Tamakloe added that ‘being the first-time program, it was a breakthrough and grand success, and we can leverage that for bigger and greater achievements.”

Therefore, the public should “expect more programs from the Deeper Life Music Ministry and content from the music ministry, not necessarily in this format, but I strongly feel that we have a lot to offer the world through our kind of music. We have so many talents that need to bless the entire world, so we are not stopping here, the program will come after the program. We will keep announcing them.”

Among the list of conductors were James Bamfo, Simon Brako, Emmanuel Gaitor, and Samuel Asuo, and the program was moderated by Isaac Osei-Owusu and Angela Densu.

List of performances and songs;

  • Accra Children Choir: Psalm 34 (Oh, Taste and See)
