Following the official announcement on February 23, 2024, by Guinness World Records that her attempt to break the longest individual singing marathon record was unsuccessful, Afua Asantewaa took to social media to share her thoughts.

“The news of the outcome of my Sing-a-thon attempt came a few minutes as I was preparing to host a gala dinner and the launch of the Lebanese Scholarship Alumni Network attended by the President President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. I will announce my next line of action in a few days. Thank you all for your love and support. When life hands you lemons, turn them into lemonade.
Success is sweetest when snatched out of the jaws of defeat.”

Guinness World Records announced her disqualification on X, stating, “Unfortunately Afua’s attempt for the longest singing marathon was not successful, but we hope she will make another attempt soon. We’ve seen how inspirational it has been for her fans.”

Asantewaa’s record-breaking journey began on December 24, 2023, aiming to surpass the existing record for the longest individual singing marathon. Initially planned to end on December 27th, the attempt was extended to a remarkable 126 hours and 52 minutes after consultation with her team.

Held at the Akwaaba Village in Accra, the event drew massive support, attracting thousands of attendees and prominent figures from the Ghanaian entertainment industry, including Nana Ama McBrown, Gifty Anti, Shatta Wale, KiDi, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Kaywa, Clemento Suarez, Akuapem Poloo and Adina

Asantewaa’s resilience and spirit in the face of this outcome have garnered further admiration and anticipation for her future endeavours, leaving fans eagerly awaiting her next move.
