legendary Ghanaian music producer Fred Kyei Mensah, known as Fredyma, has heaped praise on Afro-gospel musician Joseph Matthew.
Joseph Matthew whose music has transcended borders, is a household name on the gospel music scene in Ghana and the UK.
All his songs offer great inspiration to believers and most of the songs are mid-tempo with a beautiful rhythm and a great bass tune and drum beat to match.
He released his debut single track, Hallelujah, in 2019; Nyame Ye, another smashing hit song in April 2019; My Story in 2020, Not Alone in 2021, The Name 2022, Blessed in 2023 and Promise Land.
At the 2023 Ghana Music Awards UK, he won the “Best Gospel Song of The Year UK” award for his song “Blessed.”
The ‘’Blessed’’ crooner has been tagged as the originator of Afro-gospel music in Ghana.
While reviewing Joseph Matthew’s songs on Onua FM, Fredyma who was a pundit on the show described him as a great artiste.
According to the legendary Music producer, ever since the award-winning Afro-gospel singer released his first song in 2019 he has followed him and paid much attention to his music.
He stressed that “ Joseph Matthew is a great artiste…I have followed him since he released his first song..he understands music…What I like about him is his vocal strength ..in terms of his wordings … You can hear the lyrics clearly…he incorporates a lot of African rhythms in his music… his fuses in all the three components of music; timing, tuning and tempo in his songs..he is very good”
The legendary music producer urged radio presenters to mostly play his songs. Joseph Matthew is set to drop his debut single for 2024 dubbed ”Fear No Man” in July.
