Nigerian musician Rema‘s highly anticipated second album, “HEIS”, has made a remarkable debut on Spotify Nigeria, setting a new record for the biggest opening day streams in 2024.
Released on July 11, 2024, the 11-track album has garnered an impressive 2.71 million streams, surpassing Olamide’s “Ikigai” which held the previous record at 1.86 million streams.
This achievement added to Rema’s previous record-breaking feat with his single “Benin Boys” featuring Shallipopi, which held the biggest opening day streams for a song on Spotify Nigeria in 2024.
While “HEIS” ranks third in terms of opening day streams for an album on the platform, it is right behind Burna Boy’s “I Told Them” (2.93 million streams) and Davido’s “Timeless” (4.91 million streams).
