Veteran Ghanaian actor Agya Koo stopped his performance at a funeral after someone in the crowd chanted support for former President John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by EDHUB, Agya Koo, who was performing with a live band at the funeral, stopped singing to address the attendant who shouted in support of John Mahama.
The actor is seen explaining that some members of the music band are key members of the opposition NDC.
“We are all Ghanaians, and we are all tolerant. We have members of the NDC in our band, but we are all working together,” he said, addressing the crowd.
He pointed out that one of the band members used to be a teacher but is now an NPP organizer, while the drummers are NDC members.
“This lady used to be a teacher in the Central Region, but now she is an organizer in the NPP. The drummers you see here are also members of the NDC, but we are all doing one work and on the same team because we are all tolerant and are all Ghanaians”, he emphasized.
He then questioned the person who chanted, saying, “Why all the noise and chants? Would elections be held today? Are we voting today?”
Feeling disrespected, he ended his performance and walked out.
