Channel One TV/Citi FM broadcast journalist, Fred Duhoe, has been named the Best News Reporter in the Television category at the 28th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards.
Fred Duhoe received the award for his impactful story titled “Resilient North Tongu Women Take Care of Their Families Despite Devastation from Dam Spillage.”
The judges were particularly impressed by his additional report, “The Wreckage Caused by the Akosombo Dam Spillage in Anlo District,” which further showcased the severe impact of the dam spillage on hundreds of indigenous communities in the Volta and Eastern regions.
The awards ceremony, held at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, September 28, 2024, featured the presentation of a citation accompanying Duhoe’s award, honouring his compelling storytelling and journalistic excellence.
This marks the second consecutive year that Duhoe has won the Best News Reporter award in the television category.
