Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake is facing backlash after reportedly smashing a fan’s phone during an encounter in France.
According to the fan, who shared his experience on social media, the incident occurred when he attempted to take a picture with the artist after a performance.
Despite the fan’s persistence in trying to capture the moment, Asake, who appeared to be in a foul mood, continuously ignored him.
Frustrated, the singer allegedly grabbed the fan’s iPhone 16 Pro Max and smashed it on the floor.
The fan took to social media to express his disappointment, sharing a video of the incident and the damage to his phone.
In his post, he wrote, “You broke my iPhone 16 Pro Max. It’s not because they pissed you off inside the nightclub that you’re going to react like that towards a fan. Anyway, I still love you.”
