The highly anticipated Euphoria Africa Charity Gala has concluded, leaving a lasting impact on attendees and viewers alike.

At the heart of this glamorous event was Edem Farrie, the celebrated media personality and multiple award-winning fashion model, who took on the role of host for the Euphoria Africa Charity Gala interview booth with grace and purpose.

Edem Farrie, known for her impeccable style, didn’t disappoint on the fashion front. She stunned in a custom-designed black gown by fashion designer Gray’ raiment (@_graiment) that beautifully merged contemporary glamour with Ghanaian rich cultural elements.

The ensemble featured intricate gold-embedded Adinkra symbols, each chosen for its deep significance.

Osrane (the moon which also represents love),  Duafe (representing beauty and femininity), Sankofa (representing the wisdom of learning from the past, to help improve the future), Afena (representing patriotism) and Gye Nyame (indicating the recognition of the supremacy of God over all being) all carefully embedded in the gown to elevate the look to its peak and highlight the significance of the theme of the night “Domestic Violence Awareness and Sustainability (which is still relevant in current affairs as water bodies are being affected by the use of heavy metals used in the extraction of gold -galamsey- and high usage of plastics with low recyclable prospects.

This masterpiece not only showcased Edem Farrie’s fashion sensibility but also served as a conversation starter, highlighting Ghana’s rich heritage and the importance of honouring them.

However, it was Edem Farrie’s role as interviewer that truly stole the show. She used her platform to bring attention to a critical issue: domestic violence.

The Euphoria interview booth became a space for meaningful dialogue, with Farrie posing thought-provoking questions to the gala’s distinguished guests such as TV presenter Bliss King, Actress & UNHCR Goodwill ambassador Nikki Samonas, Australian high commissioner to Ghana H.E Berenice Owen-Jones, who are all strong advocate for violence awareness, women empowerment and sustainability.

One of the most impactful moments came when Farrie asked attendees, “If you could design a t-shirt with a message to raise awareness about domestic violence, what would it say?

Few replied:

Nikki Samonas: “ Do not be shy, let’s talk about it”

Hyce (Ogechi hitmaker): “ Stop killing our women”

Wesley Kessi: “Men also get abused”

This question not only encouraged creativity but also prompted guests to reflect deeply on the issue, potentially inspiring future awareness campaigns.

Each of these prominent figures had the opportunity to share their thoughts on domestic violence and sustainable fashion, contributing to a broader conversation about this critical issue.

As the charity gala concluded, it was clear that Edem Farrie had once again proven herself to be more than just a fashion icon.

The success of the Euphoria Africa Charity Gala, with Edem Farrie at the helm of its interview booth, serves as a powerful reminder of the potential for high-profile events in Ghana to raise awareness and inspire action on critical social issues facing our communities.
