On Friday, 25th October 2024, the Ghana Tourism Authority held its tourism awards at the Osu Castle Gardens to present awards to distinguished personalities and institutions in the Tourism and Hospitality value chain.
Present at the ceremony were the Minister of Tourism Arts & Culture, Hon. Andrew Egyapa Mercer and his Deputy, Hon. Mark Okraku Mantey, the board chairman and board members of GTA, the CEO of GTA, Mr. Akwasi Agyeman and his two deputies, Mr Ekow Sampson, DCEO, Operations and Mr. Ben Anane Nsiah, DCEO General services, the Diplomatic community, Heads of institutions, Directors and staff of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and its Agencies, Industry practitioners among others.
The Chairperson for the occasion was Hon. Florence Oboshie Sai Cofie, while the Guest of Honour was Togbe Dr Crystal- Dzirackor, Group Chair, Crystal TV Group.
In all, 36 awards were presented to personalities who have distinguished themselves in the promotion of the tourism industry in Ghana. The awards include 26 competitive awards, 8 honorary awards and 2 special awards.
Some of the awardees include Citi FM/Channel One TV, and Labadi Beach Hotel. Highlife superstar Kwabena Kwabena and the Immigration Band delighted patrons with exceptional live band performances.
