Ahead of his much-anticipated annual concert, Rapperholic, Sarkodie, has disclosed that his life experience inspired his latest hit single.

Sarkodie released a song days ago that many have described as a Christmas hit. The song addresses the need for young men to cut their coats according to their sizes.

“No Sir” has moved on to become the anthem for the streets ahead of the yuletide season.

Speaking to Accra-based Joy News, Sarkodie indicated that “this is a real-life story and I think from both perspectives…I think it’s happened to me before but it wasn’t this bad. A friend of mine who came from a good family and had a car while I came from a middle-class family.

He had a space, he occupied the boys’ quarters of his house, so my girl, who we all know I was dating, but they linked up, but then I took it to the chin and then changed from that day, so I’ve not been in that position in a very long time, and I am not in the other position because I don’t peoples. You know.

” This is a very relatable story. This December, people will go out with their girlfriends and might end up going back alone,” he said in an interview with Joy News.

Sarkodie indicated that he has held onto the song for two years and did not want to release it, especially with the election tension but the distributors released the song and the feedback has been great.
