I won’t reach out to Burna Boy – Cynthia Morgan tells fans

Nigerian singer and songwriter Cynthia Ikponmwenosa Morgan, who now goes by the stage name Madrina, has shed light on her strained relationship with Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy.

In an Instagram post, the Benin-born artist revealed the underlying reason she has refrained from reaching out to the “Last Last” hitmaker, despite repeated suggestions from her fans and followers.

Madrina, formerly known for her successful career under the stage name Cynthia Morgan, reflected on a pivotal moment in 2016 when allegations surfaced involving Burna Boy.

At the time, Uju Stella publicly accused Burna Boy, born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, of impregnating her. According to Madrina, her decision to believe Stella’s claims at the time led to a significant fallout between herself and Burna Boy, which she believes remains unresolved.

In her Instagram post, Madrina explained that while Burna Boy was upset with her for believing Stella’s accusations, she now finds it ironic that he later admitted to the act years after the controversy initially erupted.

“For those of you sending me messages to reach out to Burna Boy, I won’t,” Madrina wrote. “If it was me, I would reach out, but he’s probably still mad I didn’t believe he didn’t impregnate Uju Stella in 2016. That’s what most men do.”

She elaborated further, adding, “They lie and get mad when you don’t believe them…something he finally admitted to online eight years later.”

The 2016 allegations by Uju Stella caused a stir in the Nigerian entertainment scene. Stella claimed that Burna Boy had impregnated her, sparking widespread speculation and media attention.

Burna Boy denied the allegations at the time, dismissing them as false. However, the controversy created rifts, not only with the public but also within his personal relationships, including with Madrina.

Years later, Burna Boy reportedly admitted to aspects of the incident, validating some of the claims that Madrina had initially believed.
