Ghanaian broadcaster Serwaa Amihere has urged the youth to exercise caution and foresight when making life decisions, emphasising how seemingly minor choices can have profound and lasting effects.
Speaking at the Ignite Youth Empowerment Thanksgiving Service, the celebrated media personality shared insights from her own experiences, particularly reflecting on a difficult chapter in her life that unfolded in 2024.
During the event, Serwaa recounted the emotional turmoil she endured following the leak of personal, explicit content that circulated widely online.
She used her story to illustrate the importance of living thoughtfully and avoiding decisions that may lead to future regret.
“I went through an extremely difficult year last year, and I am sure many of you are aware,” she began, addressing the young audience with a mix of vulnerability and resolve.
The broadcaster opened up about the deep emotional toll the incident took on her.
“It is as though I knew something was going to happen to me. You are young and so please be extremely carefyul and picky with the decisions that you make because years later, they will come back to bite you really hard in the face.”
Serwaa’s explicit video surfaced on April 2, 2024 and quickly became a topic of national discourse, triggering a media frenzy which prompted her employer, the EIB Network, to initiate an independent investigation into the matter.
