Renowned comedian and former host of The Daily Show, Trevor Noah, is gearing up to host the Grammy Awards for the fifth consecutive year. In addition to his hosting duties, Noah will also serve as a producer for the event and is nominated for Best Comedy Album for his special Where Was I. He faces tough competition in the category, going up against industry heavyweights like Dave Chappelle, Ricky Gervais, Jim Gaffigan, and Nikki Glaser.
Noah’s latest nomination marks his third from the Recording Academy. He first received a nod in 2019 for his stand-up special Son of Patricia and was a finalist last year for I Wish You Would, though he lost to Dave Chappelle.
Beyond the Grammys, Noah has earned international recognition for his craft. In 2023, he became the first comedian since Charlie Chaplin in 1965 to win the prestigious Dutch Erasmus Prize. His accolades also include two Primetime Emmy Awards and being named among “The 35 Most Powerful People in New York Media” by The Hollywood Reporter in 2017 and 2018. In 2018, TIME magazine also listed him as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
The 2025 Grammy Awards will air live on February 2 from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on CBS. This year’s ceremony is dedicated to raising funds for California wildfire relief efforts and honoring the heroism of first responders.
“This year’s ceremony carries a renewed sense of purpose, with additional efforts to support wildfire relief initiatives and to honor the bravery and dedication of first responders who risk their lives to protect ours,” the organizers stated.
