Women’s National Basketball Association superstar A’ja Wilson has officially joined the elite ranks of athletes with their own signature sneaker as Nike unveils the A’One—her first-ever shoe.

The announcement was made via Nike’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, confirming that the shoe will be released in May 2025.

The launch colorway, dubbed ‘Pink A’ura,’ reflects Wilson’s vibrant energy and passion for the game. Speaking about the milestone, Wilson shared her excitement, saying, “I want whoever’s wearing this shoe to feel like they’re top tier in all that they do.”

Wilson, a two-time WNBA champion, three-time MVP, and Olympic gold medalist, collaborated with Nike for over two years to bring the A’One to life. She described the process as an opportunity to redefine greatness and ensure the shoe was worth the wait.

Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the A’One incorporates meaningful details inspired by Wilson’s life and journey. The pink hues symbolize her Leo energy, confidence, and leadership. A pearl motif on the shoe pays tribute to a necklace her grandmother gifted her as a child, serving as a lasting symbol of strength. Additionally, the outsole features an inscription of her grandmother’s words: “As a matter of fact, the best is yet to come.”

Wilson’s deep connection to family is also woven into the design, with Celtic symbols honoring her parents. A motivational quote, “Weakness, weakness. We don’t have time for that,” is inscribed on the heel, representing her relentless drive and tenacity.

Designed for both performance and style, the A’One boasts superior cushioning, traction, and fit. The shoe features a firm foam base for explosive movements, cushioned landings, and a breathable mesh upper for comfort. Nike also confirmed an accompanying signature apparel collection, including Wilson’s signature one-leg sleeve, the A’Symmetric tight, and a cropped hoodie with a satin-lined hood.

The A’One collection will be available on SNKRS, Nike.com, and select retailers in May 2025. Wilson expressed her hopes for the shoe’s impact, stating, “When athletes wear my shoe or any of the pieces, I want them to feel the power behind that logo: the power to dream big, then put in the work—in style and confidence.”

This monumental moment solidifies Wilson’s achievements both on and off the court, as she continues to be an inspiration to the next generation of athletes through her game, resilience, and now, her own signature sneaker.
