Ghana’s emerging music sensation, Rachi Xtndo, is making waves with his latest single, Anunnaki. With a unique sound and an unapologetic approach to his craft, Rachi is quickly cementing his place in the industry.

In an exclusive interview, he delves into his journey, creative process, and the inspiration behind his electrifying new release.

The Making of a Star

Growing up, Rachi’s love for music was undeniable. He recalls jotting down lyrics to his favorite songs—though he often rewrote them based on how he heard the melodies. “Most of the time, my versions sounded even better,” he shares. This natural instinct for songwriting eventually led him to create his own music, driven by an unmatched passion for the art.

Decoding ‘Anunnaki’

The title Anunnaki is inspired by An, the Sumerian god of the sky. For Rachi, the name reflects his belief in his own uniqueness and power: “I uphold myself high as a god in my own way.” The song itself carries a bold message—he can do what he wants, but when others try the same, there are consequences.

Lyrically, Anunnaki mirrors Rachi’s lifestyle, capturing his raw emotions and unfiltered energy. “The song speaks for itself. When you listen, you’ll feel my rage,” he explains.

A Creative Spark in the Dark

The beat for Anunnaki came from producer Dusha Billions, a pivotal force in bringing the track to life. Rachi recalls receiving the beat on a night when he was feeling low: “The moment I heard it, I knew this was what I needed to lift my spirits.” Fueled by the rhythm, he wrote the entire song overnight and wasted no time recording it at Dusha’s studio the next day. “It was breathtaking. I felt myself in the sound every step of the way.”

Crafting the Sound

With no co-writers or featured artists, Anunnaki is purely Rachi’s creation. He credits Dusha Billions for crafting the perfect production but takes full ownership of the song’s writing. “Without Dusha, the song wouldn’t exist, but I wrote every word myself,” he states proudly.

Describing Anunnaki as “out of this world,” Rachi acknowledges his artistic growth. “I sometimes sit back and admire how far I’ve come. I keep getting better.”

The Struggles of an Independent Artist

Like many rising stars, Rachi has faced challenges, particularly in gaining recognition. “People don’t always see your worth, and as an independent artist, it’s hectic—especially with how you’re treated at shows and the struggle to promote your music.”

But rather than letting obstacles deter him, Rachi turns them into motivation. “I just lay back and go even harder. Some criticism makes you a better artist.”

What’s Next?

Anunnaki is now available on all streaming platforms, with multiple visualizers in the works to boost promotion. Fans can also expect an official music video soon.

Beyond this single, Rachi is gearing up for a bigger project: “Expect nothing but greatness. I’m working on a full body of work, so an EP and more singles are definitely on the way.”

Influences and Dream Collaborations

A devoted hip-hop fan, Rachi grew up listening to Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, and Nas, while also admiring Omar Sterling, M.anifest, Sarkodie, E.L., and Black Sherif. However, Kendrick Lamar remains his biggest influence. “I see myself in him,” he says.

When it comes to collaborations, he has a long list of dream artists, including Kendrick, Omar Sterling, Sarkodie, Black Sherif, Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy. But his ultimate dream? “A song with Lil Wayne would be everything.”

Beyond the Music

Outside of the studio, Rachi has a keen eye for fashion, a love for video games, and a passion for driving. But music is his life. “I go places, and even when people don’t know I make music, they call me a superstar. It comes with responsibilities, but this is what I chose.”

With Anunnaki, Rachi Xtndo is proving that he’s not just another artist—he’s a force to be reckoned with.
