Ghanaian media personality and Guinness World Records contender, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, has refuted claims that she received a V8 vehicle, house, or cash from the erstwhile New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
In an interview with Accra FM, Afua Asantewaa clarified that the only thing she received from the former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was sore throat medication during his visit to her first Singathon attempt.
She expressed shock over rumours of her having received valuable gifts from the former Vice President.

“I did not receive anything from the government. The only thing I got was medication to soothe my throat from the former Vice President [Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia] when he visited me during the performance,” she stated.
She added that these false reports have unfairly turned public sentiment against her, forcing her to repeatedly address the misinformation.
