The absence of Ghanaian dancehall sensation Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., popularly known as Shatta Wale, at the birthday celebration of business mogul Richard Nii Armah Quaye has sparked widespread speculation and debate on social media.
Amid claims that the musician was not invited to the exclusive event, his manager, Sammy Flex, has come forward to set the record straight.
Richard Nii Armah Quaye’s lavish birthday party, which took place on Saturday, March 22, 2025, was a grand affair that brought together a long list of both local and international celebrities.
Prominent figures from Ghana’s entertainment, business, and political circles graced the occasion, making it one of the most talked-about events in recent weeks.
With such a stellar guest list, many fans and observers expected Shatta Wale to be present at the event.
However, his noticeable absence led to widespread speculation, with some social media users questioning whether the artiste had fallen out of favour with the celebrant or had been deliberately excluded from the guest list.
Others went as far as questioning Shatta Wale’s relevance in the industry, given that many of his contemporaries were present.
Addressing the rumours, Sammy Flex categorically refuted claims that the artiste had been snubbed.
According to Sammy Flex, an invitation was indeed extended to Shatta Wale, but due to circumstances best known to the artiste, he chose not to attend.
“I was in London when I had a call from one Suriah and I was not able to pick and she sent me a WhatsApp message and said she was calling in connection with Richard Nii Armah Quaye birthday and so I asked her to get in touch with a team member and when I came, I asked the team and he confirmed that she did got in touch.
“So Shatta Wale’s invitation was clean but every artiste and what they stand for.”
