Prince Kwame Minkah, a well-known journalist and broadcaster, has officially transitioned into public service, taking up the role of Media Relations Officer at the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod).
With over 15 years of experience in Ghana’s media landscape, Minkah brings a wealth of communication expertise to his new position. Before joining GoldBod, he was widely known for his role as the host of the Breakfast Show on Power FM and stints at Radio XYZ.
His impressive media career also includes stints with some of the country’s leading media houses—Citi FM, Joy FM, TV Africa, and Ultimate FM in Kumasi.
Minkah’s appointment forms part of a broader wave of media professionals joining government institutions under the new administration. He follows in the footsteps of notable media figures who have transitioned into public service roles, including Emefa Apawu, now the Corporate Affairs Manager at the Petroleum Hub; Raymond Acquah, serving with the Technical and Communication Department at the Ministry of Finance; and Lantan Papanko, Corporate Affairs Manager at the Ghana Publishing Company.
Other prominent names include Randy Abbey, who was recently appointed CEO of the Ghana Cocoa Board; Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, now the Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA); Veronica Commey, Deputy Director General of the NSA; and Paa Kwesi Asare, currently serving with the Communications Department at the Bank of Ghana.
His role at GoldBod is expected to enhance public engagement and transparency in Ghana’s gold sector, particularly as the country pursues sweeping reforms to maximize the benefits of its mineral wealth for all citizens.
In his new capacity, Minkah will serve as the public face of GoldBod, spearheading communications strategies and stakeholder relations during a period of significant transformation in the industry.
