President John Dramani Mahama has announced his participation in the upcoming Ghana Fashion Week scheduled for July 2025.
During the launch of the Black Star Experience on May 1, 2025, at the Freedom and Justice Monument in Accra, he declared, “I will go into my wardrobe, change three times, and walk on the catwalk,” highlighting his commitment to promoting Ghanaian fashion.
The Black Star Experience is a flagship initiative aimed at rebranding Ghana as the cultural and creative heartbeat of Africa. It encompasses a year-round celebration featuring street carnivals, film weeks, fashion festivals, food fairs, theatrical performances, and concert party competitions, with the goal of positioning Ghana as a premier destination for heritage tourism and creative engagement.
President Mahama emphasised that the Black Star Experience belongs to every Ghanaian, urging collective participation in its execution.
He further noted that the initiative is designed to showcase the brilliance of Ghanaian festivals, music, fashion, films, cuisine, storytelling, and the warmth of its people.
