Global pop icon Beyoncé has removed a digital visual sequence from her ongoing Cowboy Carter tour following a legal warning from the owners of the Las Vegas Sphere.
The imagery, which featured a computer-generated version of the singer interacting with the iconic spherical venue, caught the attention of Sphere Entertainment Group, who issued a cease-and-desist letter citing unauthorised use of their intellectual property.
The now-removed segment showed Beyoncé towering above the Las Vegas skyline, lifting and examining the Sphere — a moment that fuelled speculation among fans about a possible residency at the venue.
Sources close to the matter suggest previous discussions between Beyoncé’s team and Sphere representatives had broken down over production logistics and creative differences. These talks reportedly included early concepts for a Las Vegas show, but no formal agreement was reached.
Following the legal notice, the contentious visuals were withdrawn, and the tour will now conclude at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas — not at the Sphere as fans had hoped.
Neither Beyoncé nor Sphere Entertainment Group have issued public statements on the matter.
The Las Vegas Sphere, opened in 2023, has quickly become one of the most recognisable venues in the world, celebrated for its immersive LED exterior and state-of-the-art live performance capabilities. Its distinct design has made it both a symbol of modern entertainment and a subject of strict brand control.
The incident highlights growing tensions between artistic expression and trademark protection in an era where digital content and iconic architecture increasingly intersect.
