Reigning Artiste of the Year, King Promise has announced his commitment to sponsoring head of his PR team, Tilly Akua Nipaa, born Matilda Mensah Marfo’s pursuit of a master’s degree in media , recognising her pivotal role in his Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) success.

Tilly was tasked with amplifying King Promise’s achievements in the lead-up to the TGMA.

With 10 nominations, including Artiste of the Year and Telecel Most Popular Song, King Promise faced fierce competition from industry heavyweights like Stonebwoy, and King Paluta.

Tilly’s fact-based, fan-driven campaign highlighted King Promise’s 2024 milestones, including his True to Self international tour across five continents, chart-topping hits like “Paris” and “Favourite Story,” and performances at major festivals such as Afro Nation and GhanaFest.

Her strategic media presence ,combined with her podcast T Means Talkative, kept King Promise’s narrative front and center, earning widespread fan support and industry acclaim.

Her efforts paid off as King Promise  won multiple awards .The victory marked his first time claiming the prestigious title after a near miss in 2024, a moment Tilly described as a result of “pure artistry, achievements, and fan love” rather than sympathy, as some critics had speculated.

In a heartfelt gesture, King Promise revealed his plans to fund Tilly’s master’s degree in PR, a move that has sparked admiration across Ghana’s entertainment scene.

Speaking to media personality Nana Romeo, King Promise praised Tilly’s instrumental role, stating, “Tilly was key to my victory. This is my way of saying thank you.”

Tilly, a University of Ghana graduate with a degree in Psychology, English, and Theatre Arts, expressed her gratitude in an emotional post on X: “‘Thank you all so much, especially those who entrusted me with projecting King Promise’s works. The industry’s overwhelming acceptance and encouragement mean everything.’”

Her work has not only elevated King Promise’s profile but also highlighted the growing influence of PR professionals in shaping Ghana’s music industry.
