Some students at the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC-IJ) are raising alarm over the hazardous conditions they face while crossing the road at 335 Junction, located just two minutes from campus.

Many students have expressed serious concerns about their safety, highlighting the risk posed by fast-moving vehicles that often fail to stop for pedestrians.

Jonah, a first-year student, voiced his frustration, stating, *“I always have to be cautious when crossing the road because the cars don’t stop for us.”*

He lamented the lack of safe crossing options, noting that he often feels compelled to navigate the busy street despite the dangers involved.

Another student, Anna, shared her experience of being late to class due to the perilous crossing.

*“There was a time I had a 7 a.m. class, but I got there after 7 because I had to wait for cars to pass. I really wish there could be a footbridge so we can have easy access,”* she said.

Annan, a continuing student, echoed these sentiments, recalling similar challenges during his first year. He urged the university administration to engage with government authorities and advocate for improvements to ensure student safety at the junction.

The ongoing safety issues at 335 Junction underscore a critical need for intervention. It is vital for the authorities to take action—whether by installing a footbridge or traffic lights—to facilitate safer crossings for students and pedestrians.
