Ghanaian singer Cina Soul has reported actor and presenter Big Akwes to the Ghana Police Service after he made threatening remarks about her on Bryt TV.
Responding to a question on who he would kill amongst Actress Vivian Jill, Evangelist Nana Agradaa and Musician Cina Soul in an interview in Bryt TV, Big Akwes said he would kill Cina Soul.
Cina Soul therefore has shared her concerns publicly on X (formerly Twitter), tagging the Ghana Police Service, MP Sam George, and the Ministry of Communications. In her post, she wrote:
“@GhPoliceService I’m deeply unsettled by this. I initially chose not to respond to earlier comments because I do not wish to be associated with this individual but at this point I feel genuinely threatened.
@samgeorgegh @mocghana I may not know the proper channels to report this but it’s critical we take a firm stance against this kind of dangerous rhetoric being broadcast on our TV and radio platforms. We must not normalise hate.”
Cina Soul’s post has sparked conversations online about responsible broadcasting and the need to curb abusive and violent speech on TV and radio.
