The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) Law School has featured an interview by Citi News’ Fauzu Masawudu in its Jurisprudence II examination for the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year.

The interview, conducted on February 20, 2024, included a live report from Accra Academy, where Masawudu spoke with a school authority regarding a power outage that had left the campus in darkness.
As part of the exam, students were asked to critically analyse key statements made during the interview and examine the legal implications surrounding the electricity disconnection at the time.

In his report, Masawudu stated: “As of 8:40 p.m. when I arrived, the entire campus was in darkness, with students using torchlights in their classrooms to study.”
A school official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, described the situation as deeply troubling, calling it an unprecedented incident in his teaching career.
The inclusion of this report in a university-level law exam underscores Citi News’ role as a leading voice in Ghanaian journalism, known for delivering impactful and relevant stories.
